Etsy Metal Blog Carnival – August 2012

Welcome to our EtsyMetal monthly Blog Carnival! Blog Carnival is about a group of our members sharing their experience on a common topic. This month’s Topic: “The Five senses” Describe your 5 senses. Which are your favorites and least favorites?   I think the most obvious favorite for me is sight. I am so inspired by the things I see around me, not to mention that I would not be able to use a torch if I was not able to see. Color is a big part of my life and can really affect my mood. My boyfriend is […]more

I have been working on a secret project and am excited to share a sneak peek with you. I have to admit that I had been dragging my feet on introducing this into my running line because it isn’t a material I have worked with before. But, I finally took the plunge and ordered the supplies. After a few days of anxiously checking my mail box the package finally came on Monday. I am delighted to begin offering this piece in my running jewelry line and the big reveal is on Friday in the Running Jewelry section of my […]more

Balance

I don’t know how some people do it. Between the day job, working on jewelry, mailing orders, taking care of the dogs and spending time with the boyfriend I am coming up short on hours in the day. It doesn’t help that the weather is finally fantastic and my yard is screaming for attention. I am always reading about incredibly busy people and how they masterfully maneuver through their day and still have time to do the dishes, but I am not one of them. I am still trying to figure out this dance. In the mean time coffee is […]more

Tunes in the Studio – Hillfolk Noir

I got to hear these guys at a little concert at Crooked Fence Brewery on my last trip to Boise. Fun music and some great beer from a new local brewery. It was a great time. Since I have been listening to these guys when I need something fun. I think this one is my favorite.

Tunes in the Studio – Mumford and Sons

I have been in the studio working on some of these silver initial necklaces and decided to pull out the ‘ol ipod and listen to some music. I know I might be a bit behind the trend on this one, but I love this guys voice and this song is one of my faves. I am always looking for some new music to jam out to in the studio, do you have any suggestions?

Excited to use my new tool – Lightroom 4

Recently Adobe released Lightroom 4 and I decided to take the plunge. So far I am glad I did. If you have used any photo editing software you will start to pick up the basics pretty quick. This software can be a powerful tool and I am excited to dig in deeper. In the meantime here are a few photos that I pulled from the archives to edit and post. And just to prove I bought this for more than just play I included a photo of my Mens Woodland Ring. Hope you like them!     UPDATE: Here are […]more

How does your Garden Grow?

Well… It doesn’t. Because I have one of these: I don’t profess to be a gardener of any renown, in fact I am just the opposite. If a seedling makes it through to adult hood it is cause for great celebration. Last year I actually did well with my little herb garden and was excited for some warm weather to get it started again. Last Saturday I toiled away mixing the soil, filling the pots, planting the seeds and making sure to mark what type of herb each pod contained. Once I was done I placed the two trays of […]more
