Okay, Here it is again. This time a little bit more finished. All soldered together and waiting to get a final sanding and polish and then I will set the stone. I have only ever set a few stones, and never a square one so wish me luck! ๐

Birthday Fun
Cupcake by Lori411 on EtsyHappy Birthday! Today is my boyfriends birthday, oh yeah, and mine too. (Seriously, we have the same birthday, I swear) Every year we get suspicious looks from restaurant staff as if we are trying to con them out of some free dessert or something. This year we are going to spend the evening indulging ourselves in some birthday sweets and dinner at a currently undisclosed location. So Happy Birthday Scott! If I have to share my birthday I am glad I get to share it with you ๐

Fall is here and Winter is not far behind!
I can see the leaves changing from my window. Fall is here, and winter is not too far behind. I am not sure I am totally prepaired for winter yet with all the slush and clouds. Although it will probably be good for me and entice me to stay inside and work on more jewelry ๐ I also get to visit my family soon and hapily 'get outta town' for a much needed break. It is always great to visit family and I haven't gotten to see them since July. My little sister is turning 18 and this is […]more
From the bench – Work in Progress Photos
I have to admit I have been away from my bench for a little while. Aside from a few custom pieces I haven't done much new work in a few weeks. I have been a bad metalsmith ;) So I decided to share a sneak peek of a newpiece I am working on. It is a lovely square moonstone that I picked up at a recent gem show. I will post more pictures once it has "developed" a bit more.
Aspiring Metalsmiths Team Blog Topic – November
This months Topic – Show us your Studio: Each month a group of metalsmiths choose a topic and you can check out each artists response on their blogs in the list below. It has been a while since I have posted any pictures of my metalsmithing โbenchโ. Really calling it that is a bit over glorifying the whole thing. Most of my work is done at an Ikea drawing table that I have since dubbed my โbenchโ. I hate to admit that most of the time it is not this organized. I cleaned her up a bit just […]more

New Work – Boyfriend Ring
Since beginning to make my own jewelry pretty much everyone in my family has gotten a piece that I have especially made for them. Everyone, except my boyfriend. So… this one's for you babe :) Hope you like it! I made this piece out of 16 gauge sterling silver sheet metal. Once I cut out the correct size I stamped the words, "I love you" and engraved a little heart on the inside. Then I soldered the piece together and shaped it on my ring mandrel to make it round. After that I took my Dremel (yes, I know I […]more
