I have had supplies to try enamels since December but have been a little bit chicken to try them. Well, I finally did and it was really fun.   Things have been busy around here and hammers have been flying. Here is a group of jewelry I just got done adding a patina to that are waiting to be polished. Once these pieces are all cleaned up they will be ready to put in the shop.

I have to admit I have been away from my bench for a little while. Aside from a few custom pieces I haven't done much new work in a few weeks. I have been a bad metalsmith ;)  So I decided to share a sneak peek of a newpiece I am working on. It is a lovely square moonstone that I picked up at a recent gem show. I will post more pictures once it has "developed" a bit more.

I sometimes come across people that ask where I buy certain pieces that I use for my jewelry. However, most often it is a piece that I have made from the ground up. With this piece for example all the different compontents that I used for the piece are included in the first photo. Okay, Here it is again. This time a little bit more finished. All soldered together and waiting to get a final sanding and polish and then I will set the stone. I have only ever set a few stones, and never a square one so wish me luck! 😉
